Following the success of its inaugural series of Online-Only wine auctions in 2012, Christie’s is pleased to kick off the spring auction season with Signature Cellars IV, the firm’s fourth Internet-exclusive auction devoted to Fine & Rare Wines. As with all of Christie’s auctions of fine and rare wines, Signature Cellars IV brings together a closely curated mix of blue-chip wines from the old world and the new, along with approachably priced selections suitable for holding or enjoying now. All browsing and bidding for individual lots is done completely online, with the click of a mouse. Registration and bidding is open now through noon EST on Tuesday, February 26 at www.christies.com/signaturecellars
With nearly 650 lots, Signature Cellars IV features a core selection of rare Burgundy from the coveted vintages of 1985, 1999 and 2002, as well as a broad offering of Bordeaux, including rare vintages from the 60s and 70s still packed in their original wooden cases. A selection of pristine Italian rarities from Piedmont, Tuscany and Veneto round out the sale, along with outstanding California wines from Harlan Estate, Kistler, Silver Oak, and more. The complete sale is expected to achieve in excess of $400,000.
